About Freeland Hall and the Holmes Harbor Activity Club

Since 1915, Freeland Hall has played a central role in our community hosting community events, dances, and club meetings and serving as a venue for weddings and events. Holmes Harbor Activities Club has been responsible for managing the Hall, which is owned by Island County. HHAC is a non-profit membership organization qualified under IRC Section 503(c) (3). During Covid, the Hall was shut down with no events and HHAC’s membership dwindled to a hand full.

Recent Improvements

In the last 12 months, HHAC has been making improvements to relaunch the Hall as the center of community building for Freeland. We have accomplished the following:

  1. Added heat pumps to keep the Hall warm in winter
  2. Recruited a management team to run the day to day operations
  3. Made numerous repairs and upgrades
  4. Built a website with calendaring system
  5. Customer relationship management system
  6. Ability to sell tickets and plan events
  7. Launched a Music Club with over 60 members
  8. Steadily increased attendance at our First Thursday Potluck Dinners.

Corporate Membership Drive

We are now ready to welcome the community back with open arms to the Hall. We believe that the best way to expand our membership is with corporate sponsorship from the leading employers in Freeland.

How it works

We will offer each of your employees an HHAC annual membership for $25 per employee. This will give your employees the benefits of attending all of HHAC sponsored events at the Hall and connecting with our community.

Benefits

Our program offers the following benefits:

  1. Each employee can attend Club events at the Hall including:
    1. First Thursday Dinners
    2. 50% off all HHAC ticketed events
  2. Employees have the option to Upgrade to a family membership for $20
  3. Use of the Hall and Park for an annual company picnic
  4. Use of the Board room for a company related event
  5. Tax deductible as we are 503(c)(3) entity
  6. Supporting HHAC capital and operational improvements
